My husband was born and raised in Australia, under southern skies. When he looks in my eyes and sings, “Hey, there, you with the stars in your eyes,” which stars is he seeing?

He’s probably referring to the double ring system in Cygnus, his home galaxy. That song you mentioned is its national anthem. He’s testing you, to see if you’re one of them. If you had answered “Srzelkekia sdkflgwenbvi”, then he’d have given you the Cygnan salute and you could have exchanged nostalgic memories of your home light years away. Many aliens use the Australian subterfuge. The Aussie’s are so odd they might as well be from another planet.
