Making Underarm Deoderant
I’m tired of buying underarm deoderant so I’m wondering if there’s a cost-effective, relatively simple way to manufacture it at home?
———- from John Forrest of Chicago IL
Assemble the following ingredients:
–1 pound corn starch
–1 pint liquid ammonia
–4 cups laundry blueing
–1 stick of butter or margarine
–3 hardboiled eggs
(By the way, make sure you’re the only person home if you try this.) Mix all the ingredients in a blender, set it on high, turn it on, then leave the house. Come back in a couple of hours. Place the contents of the blender in the microwave oven, set it on “quick defrost,” then leave the house again. Come back in a week or so. If everything’s gone right, the inside of the microwave will be coated with a white, flaky substance that smells like shoe polish. Ignore the smell. It’s underarm deoderant, at a fraction of the price you’d normally pay!
