It’s a well known fact that being on the cover of Sports Illustrated means almost certain bad luck. For example, the August 1993 cover featured the San Francisco Giants, who went on to lose the pennant. Does being on your show have the same effect. If so, please don’t use my question.

When Hubert Humphrey used to write and ask me science questions, I thought it mere co-incidence that he lost his bid for the presidency. But when George McGovern, George Dukakis, and finally, Ross Perot frequently brought me their collected ignorance, I knew I was onto something. Now I take great interest in my inadvertent ability to destroy careers. It must have something to do with sympathetic entropy, or maybe the legendary Curse of Mr. Wizard, a mutation of the Mummy’s Curse.
