First developed by NASA as a coating for telescopes in space, this material accidentally found its way into the eyes of a near-sighted astronaut.  When he found he could see without his glasses, hie thought he was merely having a psychic experience in deep space.   Instead, he was having a psychotic breakdown, but one with a happy side effect for the formerly four-eyed.
